Referring a person

Referals for the Help Service can be from a number of different sources including

  • Social workers, care workers etc.

  • Hospitals or clinics

  • Family and friends

We do ask that clients live in the Borough of Merton (though volunteers can come from outside the Borough).

Clients should also be over 55. We may also be able to help younger people with disabilities but you should contact the Help Service Co-ordinator for more information in this case.

Before proceeding any further you should make sure that the volunteer centre is able to assist your client, patient or friend. A list of what we can and cannot do can be seen on the help service home page.

If you haven’t already checked this out then please do so by going to the help service home page.

If you have checked it out, and you think that we can help, then all you need to do is contact the Help Service Co-ordinator .

When wanting to refer a person to the Help Service please contact Helen Parmiter on

0208 640 7355. Helen will arrange to visit the client in their home, to discuss further the help they are looking for. After this Helen will match a suitable volunteer to the client.
