When we receive completed application forms, we check that we have
received all the relevant information and aim to get organisations
registered with us as soon as possible. If there is going to be a delay we
do let organisations know.

Do you carry out police checks or is that the responsibility of the
organisation?
Volunteer Centre Merton does not take up references on potential
volunteers or conduct police checks. The primary responsibility for the
recruitment and selection of a volunteer rests with the volunteer-using
organisations. It is reasonable to expect this responsibility to include
decisions on determining the personal information required from potential
volunteers. This information should come from a detailed reference request
from a volunteer-using organisation made about a specific volunteer
against a specific opportunity.
